Nestled in the lush valleys of Stellenbosch, Divine Vine’s story began over a century ago, founded by the Van der Merwe family, renowned for their deep passion for viticulture and a vision to create a legacy through their vineyards.

In the early 1900s, Pieter Van der Merwe, a visionary and pioneer in winemaking, first laid eyes on the land that would become Divine Vine Estate. He was captivated by its fertile soil, ideal climate, and the gentle slopes that promised excellent vine cultivation. With his expertise and a team of dedicated workers, Pieter planted the first vines, carefully selecting grape varieties that would thrive in this unique terroir.

As the years passed, Divine Vine Estate grew in both size and reputation. The Van der Merwe family’s commitment to quality and innovation led them to adopt new winemaking techniques, always respecting the balance between tradition and modernity.
